Andrés Enrique Arias

My name is Andrés Enrique-Arias and I am a scholar, university professor, musician and occasional filmmaker based in Mallorca (Spain) and Boston (Massachusetts). As a scholar I am deeply invested in the study of language variation and change in its social context. I am also a jazz musician, with a performing career spanning almost four decades. Another interest of mine is documentary filmmaking: in my work I aim to explore the intimate connection between community, language and culture. I am currently a full professor at the University of the Balearic Islands (Palma, Spain) where I teach courses on Spanish historical linguistics.
